Helsinki Art Nouveau
Did you know that Finland has its very own brand of Art Nouveau, which combines international trends with unique patterns inspired my Finnish nature and folklore? Part fairy-tale castles, part medeaval-like dungeons with huge granite gates, these buildings are decorated with bears, squirrels, mysterious creatures, flowing lines and strange floral patterns.

Art Nouveau is the reason I first came to Helsinki, more that ten years ago. As a foreign expert, I was also commissioned by the Helsinki City Museum to contribute to the beautiful guide book they published on Helsinki's Art Nouveau buildings in 2019. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to learn so much about Finland's Art "Jugend", and to be able to share all this with you.
This tour is perfect for Art Nouveau novices, lovers and specialists alike (you can let me know if you have any prior knowledge, or if you're a beginner). It is also a great way to see a different side of Helsinki and learn about some of its most iconic architecture.
